SPRAY-CRETE PREPARATION AND CARE GUIDELINES
The following are some of the responsibilities of the customer, before
the Spray-Crete application can begin:
- Any and all objects must be removed from the area to be resurfaced, to allow
access to the entire area, and guard against over spray.
- Keep all pets off of surface while job is in progress.
- Surface must be dry, and stay dry, until installation is completed. This
means no watering in the immediate vicinity, and all sprinklers must be
turned off by customer, prior to the start of the job.
- Cut or secure back any plants or foliage from edges of installation area.
- Weather conditions may affect the actual completion time (Spray-Crete must
be applied when the working area is dry, so rainouts occasionally occur).
- Communicate with your contractor about arrangements for access to the job
such as fences, gated communities, etc.
- Spray-Crete applicators must have access to both water and electricity
sources, due to the equipment used in installations.
These guidelines should be followed to protect the Spray-Crete finish
initially and maintain its beauty down the road:
- Stay completely off the surface for 24 hours
- Wait 7 days before reintroducing furniture, pets and vehicles to the newly
creted surface.
- Do not clean with either harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners for at least
30 days.
- Do not pressure wash the Spray-Crete surface for at least 45 days.
For routine maintenance, wet traffic areas and clean with a solution of
water and mild household detergent (such as Dawn® or Ivory® dish soap); for
dirt or mildew, apply detergent or chlorine to a wet surface, scrub lightly,
then spray off with a normal garden hose.
For stubborn stains, such as rust or some food stains, apply a 70/30 mixture
of muriatic acid (found in local home centers and pool supply stores) and
water. Let sit for 1 or 2 minutes, then lightly scrub, and rinse thoroughly,
immediately.
